CONSISTENT PERFORMANCE FROM LOCHGELLY
The Lochgelly Band continued their series of consistent performances in the Scottish Championship with another 5th place in Dundee at the weekend (22nd March). Over the last few years since coming into the 1st section the band have shown a remarkable level of consistency which has seen them firmly establish themselves as one of the top bands at this level in Scotland. On Sunday the band faced probably their stiffest challenge since being promoted with the testpiece "Pentacle".
In order to meet this challenge the band had made some key signings and made some moves within the band in order to strengthen the overall ensemble. It all clicked into place on stage in Dundee as the band gave a great performance of the testpiece and came off stage feeling very happy with our performance. The judges may have felt that there were more deserving performances but at least we knew we had done our best and hadn't let ourselves down. The feeling of team spirit in the dressing room after our performance was wonderful and we now take that forward into our next contest performance at Carnegie Hall in Dunfermline.
