The band made a welcome return to the Fife Brass Band Festival contest held in the Carnegie Hall in Dunfermline at the weekend (21st April)where we finished sixth from a very competitive field of nine 1st section bands.

This year will see the holding of the fifth annual Bill Shaw Memorial Slow Melody Contest.

After qualifying for the Scottish Challenge Shield contest the band had a disappointing result but a good day out nevertheless.

After last years unfortunate absence the Lochgelly Band returned to the Fife Open contest at the weekend (14th October), which was held in Falkirk Town Hall.

The Lochgelly band made a return trip to the Ayrshire coast for the Land O’Burns contest on 26th August. A good performance saw the band finish seventh overall.

Sunday 30th April saw the Lochgelly Band staging the fourth Bill Shaw Memorial Contest.

The Lochgelly band made their return to the 1st section of Scottish Brass Banding at the Scottish Championships in Motherwell on Sunday 12th March.

The Lochgelly Band have been strengthening their ranks for life in the 1st section. The band are pleased to release details of a clutch of new signings.
